The Louisiana Renaissance Festival is a Six weekend festival and interactive theatre, starting the first Saturday of November. The 100 acre site has over 100 actors from first time volunteer, to the highly skilled career performer. The festival relies heavily on character driven performances. For 2008 the "Ren-Fest" is providing free workshops on the second Saturday of the month. Training teaches the differences from traditional acting, and also covers training for first time actors. Casting is achieved through the workshops (casting/rehearsals). The first three workshops will be at 47478 River Road, Hammond LA, on March 8th, April 12th, and May 10th. There is a one hour lunch break at the 9:45am to 5:00pm workshops. Some of the training is cumulative please attend the earliest workshop possible.
