Winner of 12 Tony Awards, the most ever in Broadway history, and from the brilliantly hilarious mind of MEL BROOKS comes a scheme so clever, so bold and so disturbingly simple that it can't possibly go wrong. Max Bialystock was once one of Broadway's most successful producers, but a string of flops has thrown his career into a tailspin, and now he struggles to raise the cash to stage new shows by playing gigolo to lonely old ladies. While going over his books, Leo Bloom, a nervous accountant, points out that "under the right circumstances, a producer could make more money with a flop than he could with a hit." After persuading Bloom to join him in his scheme to put on the biggest flop in Broadway history, the producers find the mother lode -- "Springtime for Hitler: A Gay Romp with Adolf and Eva at Berchtesgade," written by neo-Nazi pigeon fancier Franz Liebkind. After a freak accident on Opening Night, Roger Debris (the worst director in town) is forced to go on in the title role, turning the show into an instant surprise smash. Add a Swedish bombshell, a gaggle of dancing old ladies and the styling of legend Mel Brooks, and you've got a recipe for an hysterical disaster. BRLT is excited to welcome Henry Avery home to direct this high-energy, zany musical comedy!
