Pianist/puppeteer Harry Mayronne and versatile singer/actress Dorian Rush join musical forces in RED HOT BLUE NOTES, an eclectic evening of jazz, blues, and more. With Michael Skinkus on percussion and Tim Paco on upright bass, RED HOT BLUE NOTES includes works by, among others, Sonny Burke, Dave Frishberg, Tom Waits, Lyle Lovett, Leiber & Stoller, Annie Ross, and Mayronne.
Harry also performs with his marionette “Miss Viola” as well as his recent creation, a likeness of legendary French writer/musician/singer Boris Vian. In post-World War Two Paris, Vian was also a jazz writer and critic with a passion for the music of New Orleans. "Puppet Boris" will perform Vian's 1954 anti-war song "Le Deserteur. (Incidentally, there is an upcoming (2013) French film based on Vian's novel "L'Écume des Jours". American title: "Mood Indigo".)
