Then he escapes institutional intervention and heads to New York City, finding there an underground community--called Mutiny Zoo--in an abandoned subway tunnel. Driven from their haven, Macon and the Mutiny Zoo make their way to New Orleans, where Macon plans a lethal confrontation with his estranged father...before his ultimate confrontation with the Divine.
Given the apocalyptic/ecstatic themes of The Joys of Armageddon, it was important to RIVKA and MIKE iLL, the creative team behind MadhaPPy, that their original, hiphop, sung-through musical premier in New Orleans on the anniversary of 9/11, after a preview in their homebase city, Pensacola. With assistance from the doyenne of the Backyard Ballroom, OTTER, the duo has assembled a number of New Orleans talents to join the visiting Pensacolans for this one-weekend-only special event: MICHAEL MARTIN as Antoinette LaFite, MICHAEL BILL as Pong, RATTY SCURVICS as Astroid, CARLOS GONZALEZ as Widget, CARRIE ANNE ROSE as Muerdonk Bethusiasel, and Otter herself as Oshun. The Joys of Armageddon stars Mike iLL as Macon and Rivka as Holy Jones.
It's safe to say that the Backyard Ballroom hasn't seen a show this wild since Otter's legendary debut, The Palanquin Diaries.
