This is a stage play about the movie business. The “dogs” of Mr. Shanley's title are two actresses, a producer and a first-time screenwriter, each of whom is trying to usurp control of a woefully underbudgeted movie being shot by a weak (and unseen) director named George Lee Beach on the streets of New York. Meanwhile the ruthless actresses, a seriously over-age ingénue and a Machiavellian newcomer, want larger, more sympathetic roles at the expense of each other as well as of the script's integrity and narrative coherence. These four strip the movie of every last scrap of meat to feed their own greedy agendas. Comedy - Adult Situations/ Some Language – Recommended for mature audience
