Although this play was originally called simply 'Pinocchio," the title was subsequently changed to 'Pinocchio Commedia' when it was published by the I.E. Clark publishing company. The show was later produced at the Children's Corner of Le Petit Theatre du Vieux Carre as a musical with music and lyrics by Fred Palmisano with permission from author John Simons. Luis Q. Barroso a cast member of this production directed the musical version.
