Notes: This inaugural show at the new Bayou Playhouse was set to open on 8/29/08, the 3rd anniversary of the date Hurricane Katrina hit the Louisiana Coast(& during which time the action of the play occurs.) In a dangerous & ironic twist of nature, Hurricane Gustav approached the coastline on the same date 3 years later cutting a direct path to the Lafourche Parish area & forced evacuation of most of Southeast LA & the postponement of "Rising Water"--at least on stage. Lafourche & surrounding parishes sustained some of the worst damage but after much work & determination, the Bayou Playhouse rebounded & Artistic Director Perry Marting was able to open his show on 10/10/08 for its month-long run. --LaB
