Who can sleep with this heat?
We don't know about you, but the new Voodoo Mystére Lounge is exhausted. At this point we'd like nothing better (yes, buildings speak in the first-person plural) than to curl up with a good story. Of course, being a bar/performance space, our idea of a good story has...matured a bit.
Presenting our newest series: "Esoterotica: Bedtime Stories for Adults," a Friday night special. It's theater at its simplest: A skillful actor with a nice voice comes in, settles into a comfy chair next to a good reading light, and regales all assembled with a story of fantastic adventure... in this case, of fantastic intimate adventure. Those fortunates so pleasured sip wine, snuggle up and, occasionally, make unexpected noises. All the stories chosen are first-person, offered up as true-life. But we know the current state of veracity in memoir: Some are true; some, well, maybe a little shaded in truth. All of them are great yarns, though, especially when recounted by these great performers...
12/19: City Of Night.
