We meet Fritz (Greg Hill), a nice young man who has two best pals; Schnitzel (Keely Tieperman) and Greta (Brittany Hill), each one as hip as can be! They all live near Tacky The Witch (Vatican Lokey)'s Forbidden Forest where she keeps Rapunzel (Meghan Gibbens) locked in a tower. The kids, in trying to rescue the also-very-hip Rapunzel, enlist the help of Tinsel, the Fairy Godmother who is hippest fairy in the realm. She faces off against Tacky, whose dated wardrobe from the 40's collides with Tinsel's 70's style and hilarity ensues!
This production produced the signature tune "Light Up the Sky", which serves as the anthem and the title for the semi-annual fundraisers for the Fred J. Palmisano Theatrical Scholarship at the University of New Orleans. As with all the Palmisano shows done by Mr. Cox, the final dress rehearsal night was a benefit with 100% of the profits going to the scholarship.
