The Nicholls Players of Nicholls State University are proud to present Tennessee Williams’ masterwork, “The Glass Menagerie.” A production that is sure to make you both laugh and cry, “The Glass Menagerie” is a truly heartfelt jewel of American theatre. The semi-autobiographical piece set in 1930’s St. Louis centers around the life of Tom Wingfield, an aspiring poet who works in a warehouse to support his mother and sister. After his father abandoned their family, Tom is torn between his want for his own life and his responsibility to his disserted mother, who now lives vicariously through her children, and his sister, who is physically handicapped. The production is directed by Dr. Stanley Coleman and stars Laura Templet as Amanda(the mother), Dacia Persilver as Laura(the daughter), Joey Pierce as Jim(the gentleman caller), and Kirk Savoie as Tom(the son). The show will open March 13, 2008 at 7:30 and will run through March 16, 2008 (Sunday Matinee at 3:00). Admission is $10 for general admission and $5 for students.
