JOSEPH TERENCE GRAY (1966-2009), a local registered nurse, passed away the morning of April 21, 2009, at East Jefferson Hospital, following a lengthy illness. He was 42 years old. The youngest son of the late Paddy and Celine Gray, Joe was born and raised in Streetly, Sutton Coldfield, England. He studied nursing and received his degree from London Hospital School of Nursing. He practiced in London and Munich, before moving to the United States in 1993 to practice in Savannah, Georgia. Moving to New Orleans, Joseph served as a registered nurse at Tulane University Hospital for several years, then entered agency nursing. He most recently practiced at the Ochsner Foundation Hospital Transplant Unit. Joe was an avid supporter of New Orleans community theatre and was a regular in audiences through the region. Joe spoke fluent French and German, and was an occasional dialect coach for local theatre troupes. Joe is survived by his brothers Paul and Brendan Gray, sisters-in-law Anita and Paula and nephews James and Thomas Gray of England. Also, his beloved cat Pickles and his friend of many years Troy Tillman of Metairie. Joe will be taken home and laid to rest with his parents in Streetly, England.
