ANNUAL VOODOO ON THE BAYOU PARTY WILL RAISE FUNDS FOR FAUBOURG ST. JOHN NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION WHO: Faubourg St. John Neighborhood Association Musical entertainment Bruce “Sunpie” Barnes
WHAT: Annual Faubourg St. John Neighborhood Association fund raiser with cuisine provided by local restaurants, open bar, live music with Sunpie Barnes. Attire is costume or black tie. Tickets are for sale for $40 in advance or $50 at the door.
WHEN: Saturday, October 27, 2007 at 8:30 p.m. until midnight
WHERE: the Pitot House, 1440 Moss Street on Bayou St. John, NOLA
WHY: To benefit the Faubourg St. John Neighborhood Association
Your ticket covers musical entertainment, an open bar and fare from some of New Orleans most beloved restaurants, ranging from Asian Pacific to Venezia (complete list of restaurants/vendors below). Door prizes from local vendors will be given away at the party as well.
Musical entertainment will be provided by Bruce "Sunpie" Barnes. Sunpie stands out as a great New Orleans blues harmonica player. His innovative and energetic style draws equally from late greats like Sonny Boy Williamson and modernists Lee Oskar and Carey Bell. Sunpie has further distinguished himself as a zydeco accordionist and powerful singer. In addition to his musical talent, Sunpie has a budding career in film, appearing in several major Hollywood productions and national advertisements.
