THE PILLOWMAN IS COMING TO LE PETIT THEATRE

Opening night with wine and cheese after-party August 8

New Orleans, LA – DEM BOYS PRODUCTIONS and Le Petit Théâtre du Vieux Carré present the New Orleans premiere of the Olivier-winning thriller The Pillowman for a three week run August 8 through 25. EVERY WEDNESDAY IS ‘THEATRE NIGHT’, WITH ALL TICKETS $20. OPENING NIGHT TICKETS INCLUDE WINE AND CHEESE AFTER-PARTY. Dane Rhodes directs Martin McDonagh’s shocker about a young writer and his mentally deficient brother who are interrogated in an unnamed totalitarian state about the gruesome content of the writer’s short stories and their similarities to a series of equally horrific child murders.

Katurian, the writer, fights to save his stories, along with him and his brother Michal, from execution by Tupolski and Ariel, two cops whose soul mission is to rid the planet of anyone who may be remotely sinister. Each has his own story of abuse, and all come together in an explosive, gasp-inducing tale of horror and redemption. The New York Times hailed the show as a “spellbinding, stunner of a play.”

The cast includes Blake Balu (Katurian), Robert Pavlovich (Tupolski), Bob Scully (Ariel), Leon Contavesprie (Michal), Angie Joachim (Mother), T. J. Toups (Father) and Samantha Evers (Girl).

This production contains harsh language and images of extreme violence that some may find offensive. Discretion is advised.

Performances are Wednesday through Saturday, August 8 - 25 at 8:00 pm and Sundays at 6:00 pm. Tickets are $28, with discounts for students and seniors. All Wednesday performances are $20. The theatre is located at 616 St. Peter. For more information, call the Le Petit Theatre box office at (504) 522-2081.
