NORD Crescent City Lights Youth Theater presents

THE RED SNEAKS by Elizabeth Swados for only 6 more performances through August 5th

"Outstanding!" audience members are heard to say as they depart the theater lobby spellbound by the power of "The Red Sneaks."

"These teens are so well-rehearsed with excellent choreography."

"The young man playing the devil (Tyler Chetta as Shawn) is too young to know how to act that evil. Superb acting!"

With an 18-member all-teen cast, The Red Sneaks updates the fable,
The Red Shoes, with a hip hop urban samba beat.

CCLYT has updated the setting of the show from 90's New York to somewhere a short time after Katrina.

Our New Orleans cast of teens bring a vibrant energy and sense of urgency to this amazing show.

After experiencing the hurricane, these talented young people all have a depth of experience that is evident in their dynamic performance.

The Red Sneaks, with music, book and lyrics by Elizabeth Swados, is directed by J Hammons, with vocal direction by Julie Condy,
choreography by Maritza Mercado-Narcisse, costumes by Charlotte Lang, stage design by Constantinos Kritikos and lighting design by Mark Montabano.

The Crescent City Lights Band features New Orleans' own master of Brazilian music, Curtis Pierre of Casa Samba on percussion with Meghan Swartz on keyboard, Gene Black on drums and Bruce Tyner on bass.

NORD Ty Tracy Theatre, Gallier Hall, 1st Floor, 545 St. Charles Ave.
